This is a complimentary color acrylic painting. Getting the colors just right for this one was tricky for me. I love the way it turned out, especially with the sun setting behind the mountains.
This is an oil painting done mainly in palette knife to show texture in the trees. I painted this using a reference photo that my aunt sent me from Atlanta, Georgia.
This was my first analogous painting in acrylics. For some reason I am always drawn to shades of purple, so I had a lot of fun with this one once I finally got the water right.
Oh, how I love palette knife paintings! Palette knifes allow me to let loose and not be so "careful." I don't seem to go back and change things up as much when I use palette knife. Hmm..maybe I need to start using them more often when painting.
